Jordie Lunn's Spectacular Peanut Butter Jam -

April 26, 2008 - An amazing weekend in the Lunn's backyard! As you all know Jordie Lunn has been putting on Dirtjump Competitions in his yard for the last couple years. I have dreamed about going to his yard ever since watching the movie 'ROAM' by The Collective. This year things changed, Tyler Maine aka Brule called me one night while I was working on the jumps in Kelowna and asked me what I was doing on the 26th of April, I simply replied, "Either gaming on Call of Duty 4 or riding our local jumps". Then he told me that I'd got an invite to Jordie Lunn's competition, I just freaked, dropped my shovel and jumped up and down in excitement! This was the coolest invite ever!
We arrived a couple days early to meet everyone, help fix up the jumps and claim a good camping spot for the weekend! The jumps looked amazing, pump lines everywhere! I knew right off the bat that these jumps were going to be a bit of a hassle to get through since they were so technical and coming from a back ground where I mostly hit straight dirt jump sets, it was an experience that I will not forget and have learned from!
Practice Day! It probably took a solid 5 or 6 hours for everyone to dial in the first part of the jump line. Unfortunately for me, I wiped out trying to train Jordie through a set and bruised the bottom of my heal bone and could barely walk, so that knocked me out of the comp. The awesome thing about Jordie's comp is that it's just to kick off the season, hang with fellow riders and have a good time! Gives me time to "Heal" up and be ready for more as the season continues.
Competition Day! We woke up to an amazing breakfast and I believe that it was the big factor in getting everyone ready to start throwing down-amazing I tell you! Everyone was really giving it their all now and it got a little scary at some points when riders were falling all over the place. There was about 25 riders that rode in qualifying and then the judges narrowed it down to the top 10 for the super finals.
Results:
-1st Ryder Kasprick and his baby Jaden
-2nd Jordie Lunn
-3rd Graham Agassiz
-4th Dustin Greenall
-5th Eric Lawrenuk
All in all everyone rode great! I would like to thank Jordie for hosting another amazing jam. Tyler Morland for making it happen with all the Blackbox Labs and SRAM stencils, banners and flags, he put in so much time and hard work setting up for that one day, it was remarkable. A huge thanks to Tyler Maine from Pinkbike.com for helping me get into the jam to ride with the big names!
Check out this Peanut Butter Knife Fight Album for more sick Pics.
I can't wait till next year, I have a feeling its going to be even better!!!
Thanks

Those jumps look sick. Looks like it was a good jam.
I bet you were pretty pissed at hurting yourself before the comp though
