Ending The Season On a Good Note
October 25, 2007Published by cgrovesNever Had A Better Day
Well, I'm Back and I believe in my last write up I mentioned Mitch Chubey, Ian Nelson, Curtis Robinson and Dylan aka Stubz coming to kelowna to film for a video NSMB is doing with Brian Hammond from "In Session". OMG it had to have been the best time ever!! We all had a blast! Shit was getting thrown down!! We went up to our secret jumps, where my buddies and I have been building for a long time to get ready for this day, and did we ever tare the place up. I am 100% sure those jumps will never be riden any harder then we rode them. We were all shredding the new box line we just built and were having fun, then Mitch just decides to turn on his turbo button out of no where. You always have to watch someone like Mitch cause you never know what someone with his potential will throw down. Just after I finished a small interview with Stubz, I look up to see Mitch barspinning up the step up followed by a 3 six off the drop to boosting a perfect flip of the dirt step up. Not only was he stoked on that but we were too. If you remember when he was on Drop In, he landed his first flip whip? Well just to sum things up, he dropped in and straight air'd everything, so you had to know something was going to happen. Well by gully Mitch threw down a flip whip but ejected. Luckly he was okay. He wasn't satisfied with that so he had to do it again and this time landed better but you could tell he still wasnt feeling it even though everyone was super stoked on him doing the "Flip Whip". He hiked back up and pedal'd into the box rolled off and came into the dirt step up with courage in his eyes that he was going to stick it, which he did, perfectly! Ian, Curtis and I all rode down to him with our arms wide open, jumping on him with excitement. Then we were all sore and bored of these jumps so we all packed the bikes up and took off to Leroy's new jumps somewhere in the boonies. From what I had heard before about these jump, was that the were huge Crankworx style jumps and big sender's so I was like great these will be fun on a 4" hardtail. Well if I hadn't come to these jumps I would have pissed my pants with anger. The first double was about 20' feet into a super poppy tall double with about a 10-15 ft gap into a rather large step down hip. The were so perfect and even though the rain was falling it was a great sesh! After we all through down there, it started raining harder and everything was getting slick and scary so we decided to call the day to an end. Can't wait till next time boys!
