Casey and Carl's Cali Trip - Day 2

All right, so today started of really rad. Woke up early and found out that the jam didn’t start till 2pm. So Carl and I drove around San Diego and found a couple sick skate parks. Instead of being bums and chilling at our hotel, we decided to hit the beach for some photos. Then I decided I wanted to go swimming, so I went back to our rental car (yea we got a PT Cruiser) to change into my shorts.

I hit the water and it was chilly but I’m used to it coming from BC. So I am out there getting tossed around by some big waves and watching the surfers get destroyed when this local man came out and was body surfing. I asked him how he did that and he showed me, well sure enough I dialed it in first try. What a blast!! It was probably the most fun time of my life.


Carl and I went to the skate park jam and was it ever fun! So much crazy shit went down, pardon my French. There were a whole slew of riders from around Cali. Mike Montgomery, Chris Sorichetti, Watermelon ha-ha, Isaac wood, Kaitlin, Carter Holland, Brian Miller, Caramel Chad, a bunch of nice guys who throw down. Mike and Chris were busting out flairs as well as insanely dipped 360’s. Kaitlin made fun of a bunch a people and I loved it. He rode very solid as well. Brian was steezy and Watermelon just snaked everyone ha-ha.


Meanwhile I threw down what I could do in a skate park. End up ejecting on an under rotated backflip and Tuck no hander. Carl was taking photos the whole time and it was such a legit session. Just less than half way through I got a flat. Of course I forgot to bring tubes, then Chris told me I could take the tube out of his 26’’ bike which he wasn’t riding since he was on his BMX. Thanks so much Chris!

Once it became dark we headed to Carl's Jr to grab a bite to eat and since we are in The United States of American I decided to eat like an American. I got a large drink which ended up being twice the size of a large in Canada, and a mint Oreo shake along with my large fries and big ass burger…now I feel like crap. We got back to the hotel and I went for a long swim in the pool by myself, then hit the shower (also by my self).

Today was an overall great day and an amazing experience in Cali. Tomorrow we are going to ride dirt trails, which is where I will be able to throw down a lot more.
