Sea Otter - Day One "The Gathering"

I arrived at Pinkbike this afternoon to meet up with the crew. When I got there I walked into the shop, there was Tyler and Trenton working on his new Devinci bikes to get his bikes in tip-top shape for Sea Otter. About an hour later Kyle arrived and was stoked to see his new bikes sitting waiting to be built. I worked on my Transition Double for a couple hours swapping parts and fine-tuning certain things so that I can race Dual at the Sea Otter in a few days.
We’re heading down to Oregon tomorrow to spend a few nights at Northwest School of Freeride, and then we’re going to Monterey, California for the Sea Otter Classic. Kyle and Trenton will be racing DH while I “attempt” racing dual slalom, and the dual stunt.
It’s going to be a wicked trip and I am super excited, I can’t thank Pinkbike enough for making it happen!

i don't think its possible for 3 piece cranks to be stiffer/stronger than two piece cranks, but ya the new saints are sick.
there is no way for 3 peice to be near the strength and stiffness of a 2 piece without waying almost a pound more including BB. take a set of howitzers for example. same weight as the xt cranks. at a comparable strength and stiffness. but then you have to add on the 300g+ BB. then it's not even worth it.
im sorta dumb about cranks and i always thought there was only a 1 pice and a 3 pice whats so good about a 2 pice?
on a two piece crank, the spindle is attatched to the non-drive side crank, and goes through the bottom bracket to the drive side crank. super light design, all the shimano cranks are this way. truvativ (sram) uses a three piece where the bottom bracket bearing cups and the spindle are one package and the two cranks are another. look at the websites. you'll see.

Hey we might just get our wish from sram next year in the form of two piece cranks ... Looks like there's a boa kbps pair on Sam hill's ride.
How good are those E2200s for DJ and street? I suppose if you're smooth, you would be fine, but what if you're still learning?
Both wheels are pricey, but I like that the E2200 is a bit lighter.... and cheaper.
